The Dermafix pen is a handheld, state of the art device that uses a number of sterile needles to create microchannels in the skin. This is one of several different microneedling devices but the Dermafix pen remains one of the most popular options, especially for skin rejuvenation.
SUITABLE FOR REDUCING THE SIGNS OF AGEING, IMPROVING UNEVEN SKIN TONES, AS WELL AS REJUVENATING SKIN, THE DERMAFIX PEN COULD BE THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR YOU
Dermafix Microneedling Pen
The Dermafix pen creates small channels in the surface of the skin, to increase the production of collagen and elastin. These two substances are often lost as a natural part of the ageing process. This loss leads to a lack of elasticity in the skin which aids the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Losing elastin also reduces the firmness of the skin which can also be a problematic sign of ageing leading to hollow patches or sagging skin. As a result, by replacing these two substances your skin will be firmer and younger looking.

Microneedling results in the natural response to wounding of the skin, even though the wound is minute and mainly subcutaneous. A single needle prick would cause an invisible response. However, when thousands or tens of thousands of fine pricks are placed together one gets a “field effect”. This therefore promotes the normal post-traumatic release of growth factors and infiltration of fibroblasts. This reaction is automatic and produces a surge of activity that inevitably leads to fibroblasts being instructed to produce more collagen and elastin.

The needles used vary in diameter, but they are micro-fine and barely noticeable. Microneedling shouldn’t cause anything more than a mild discomfort at most.

As a general rule of thumb, microneedling treatment can be safely done about once a month or every 4 to 6 weeks. This is the frequency that works best for the majority of clients of all skin types, but some clients find that microneedling more or less frequently than this range works best for their skin and their aesthetic goals.
After you have obtained your desired results, all subsequent appointments will be used to maintain these results.
Because the results of this treatment build gradually, you will be able to have more time between your regular maintenance appointments. Many clients opt to have regular treatments every 6 to 8 weeks for this purpose.

The recovery time is minimal. Most people require very little downtime if any at all.
You may notice skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in your skin.
